The Aberdyfi Art Society

The Aberdyfi Art Society

"The Aberdyfi Art Society is a small but flourishing art society with members of all ages and abilities."

The aim of the Society is to help members to enjoy and practise their art, encouraging and assisting newcomers to the hobby of painting and sketching, and also providing a practical base of instruction and information for the more experienced artists. The Society also provides enjoyable social interaction with others who have similar interests.

The Society has been supporting local artists for over 40 years. Our membership today includes professional and semi-professional artists as well as many talented amateurs.

All members are encouraged to exhibit at our Summer Exhibition each year which is always a popular event with locals and holiday makers alike.

About The Society

"The Aberdyfi Art Society supports and encourages artists in the Aberdyfi area of Wales."

Throughout the Spring to early Autumn, the Society has a programme of Outdoor Painting Days, held on the first and third Tuesdays in the month (except August) at various local beauty spots.

During the Autumn and Winter months, Painting Days are held in Aberdyfi.  At these Tuesday meetings, the Society members often benefit from the tuition of experienced professional artists.

Also, there are a series of 'Art 4 All' painting evenings being held in Tywyn - contact The Society for full details.

Among other social events, a Spring luncheon and an Autumn supper are arranged for members.

Events

The Aberdyfi Art Society meets for Indoor Painting Days in Aberdyfi and for 'Art4All' evenings in Tywyn. During the summer months the Society meets for Outdoor Painting Days. There are also tutorial days where you can learn from professional guest artists. See the programme for details, times and dates.

Everyone is welcome, including non-members. All mediums suitable - bring your own materials. There will be advice and help on hand from fellow members. There is always plenty going on in The Aberdyfi Art Society, and all events are well attended by members and guests alike.

At the Thursday Evening 'Art4All' meetings there will be one or two competent artists who will be available for help and guidance. Some evenings may be tutored or include a demonstration. However, at all meetings you are free to pursue your own work, regardless of whatever else is going on.
